AKLAN – A high-value drug suspect was back behind bars after he was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tigayon, Kalibo town.

The 40-year-old Glen Deslate, a resident of the place, sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P20,000 yesterday morning.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Aklan seized a total of nine sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P500,000.

Also recovered from the suspect were two digital scales, aluminum foil, tooter, lighters, cellular phone, and sling bag.

According to PDEA agent V Nicholas Gomez, Deslate had spent over 12 years in prison at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) – Aklan and was transferred to the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa for a year.

Gomez added that the suspect was the alleged source of illegal drugs of the drug suspects apprehended in separate buy-bust operations in Lezo and New Buswang towns.

Deslate is now detained at the Kalibo Municipal Police Station, facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
