BACOLOD City – A high-value drug target was wounded after eluding arrest in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Alijis.
Onboard his motorcycle, 28-year-old Gino Inventor of Barangay 1 allegedly fired at operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Bacolod City Police Office, which caused the latter to retaliate.
The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 25.
Inventor sustained gunshot wounds on the feet and was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here.
Recovered from him were 12 sachets of suspected shabu worth P680,000, a P5,000 marked money, a .38-caliber revolver loaded with ammunitions, a motorcycle, and a cloth bag, a police report showed.
The suspect was placed under hospital arrest, facing charges./PN
