High-value target yields P160K ‘shabu’

AKLAN – Seven sachets of suspected shabu valued at P160,000 were seized from a high-value drug suspect in a drug buy-bust operation in Ati-atihan Subdivision, Barangay New Buswang, Kalibo town.

The 43-year-old Arvin Bautista, a resident of Kalibo, was arrested on Wednesday, April 17, by joint operatives of the Kalibo Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Aklan.

Aside from the illegal substance, authorities also recovered P10,000 in buy-bust money and non-drug paraphernalia.

According to PDEA-Aklan agent V Nicolas Gomez, the suspect was allegedly involved in the delivery of illegal drugs to Ibajay and Lezo towns.

The suspect was detained at the Kalibo MPS, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
