BACOLOD City – An engineer of the city government of Himamaylan in Negros Occidental was shot by unidentified riding-in-tandem suspects on Thursday, Nov. 24.
Vicente Genova, 54, was washing his service vehicle when the suspects shot him at about 3:21 p.m.
Police said the victim sustained a gunshot wound to his lower leg and was taken to the Holy Mother of Mercy Hospital in Kabankalan City for treatment.
Himamaylan City police investigation revealed that two men approached the victim and asked if he was “Engineer Genova”, and when he confirmed, he was shot three times.
Recovered from the crime scene were ammunition of a .45 handgun and two fired cartridges of a .9mm.
Investigation is ongoing. No suspect has so far been named./PN
