BACOLOD City – The city government of Himamaylan is poised to digitalize all government processes and transactions; thus, the locality is pushing to be a pioneer of the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) e-Government System Project in the province of Negros Occidental.
Mayor Raymund Tongson recently led the local government unit in the consultative meeting with DICT-6 regional director Ralph Joseph Moncatar and Engineer Mary Jane Agonace.
“With digitalization, we are sure that Himamaylanons will find government transactions faster and easier,” Tongson said.
The e-Gov system, which includes the e-Gov Super App, a platform aimed at ensuring the digitalization of government systems in the Philippines, was announced in December 2022.
Through this program, according to the DICT, local governments will be able to save expenses and boost income generation.
The mayor also believes that with efficient and innovative use of technology, the level of service to Himamaylan will be further elevated.
DICT and the Himamaylan City Government are also collaborating to conduct training on information and communication technology for the locals sometime in March./PN
