BACOLOD City – His wife found him dead drenched with blood inside their house along Aguilar Street in Barangay 4, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
The 58-year-old tricycle driver Lodivico Sumagaysay shot himself on the head, a police report showed.
Sumagaysay’s wife Rosalina, 59, discovered his lifeless body around 7 a.m. on Thursday, the report further stated.
Rosalina then alerted the municipal police station led by officer-in-charge Chief Inspector Jake Barila.
According to the investigators, Sumagaysay’s daughter and her husband heard a gunshot around 12:10 a.m. on the same day but did not mind it.
They thought they were only dreaming, they told the investigators.
Sumagaysay has hinted his plan to kill himself by telling his children “not to cry when he dies,” police said.
He had also lamented about his health and financial problems with his neighbors, added the police.
Recovered beside Sumagaysay’s body was a .38-caliber revolver (Armscor special edition with no serial number), two live bullets, a slug, a gun holster, and keys.
