BACOLOD City – A farmer was hacked to death in Barangay Asia, Hinobaan, Negros Occidental.
Resident Joemarie Embang, 45, sustained hack wounds on the neck, a police report showed.
Embang’s stepbrothers Raymund Aro, 20, and a certain Adong Aro were tagged as suspects.
According to police investigators, Embang was bringing his cow to a farm when the suspects hacked the victim using a bladed weapon around 6 a.m. on April 3.
Prior to the incident, the suspects went to the house of Embang and challenged him to a fight on April 2. The victim’s sons, however, prevented their father, police said.
As of this writing, officers of the Hinobaan municipal police station have yet to arrest the suspects but are looking into land dispute as the motive in the killing./PN
