MANILA – Kevin Barkley Eboña and Michael Digregorio are set to return to their former squads ahead of the 2022-2023 PBA Governors’ Cup, which will open later this month.

Eboña is set to be shipped to the Converge FiberXers along with a future first round pick, while Digregorio will return to Blackwater Bossing along with RK Ilagan and Tyrus Hill. The trade was approved by the PBA office on Tuesday.

The FiberXers of head coach Aldin Ayo will deepen its frontline rotation further with the acquisition of former Far Eastern University Tamaraws starting big man Eboña.

Eboña was a former first round pick in 2019 by the Alaska Aces, now known as the FiberXers and had a solid year with the squad under the tutelage of big man coach Danilo Ildefonso.

He was traded to the Bossing last year as part of the Jvee Casio package and did not get the consistent playing time that he had during his time with Alaska.

The 31-year-old Digregorio, on the other hand, was also on a comeback at the Bossing camp after he first played for the franchise during the 2017-18 season

Digregorio had his best times as a PBA player with Blackwater where he averaged 12.4 points on 39 percent shooting from three-point range on the way to being named Most Improved Player.

Following that solid year, he was traded to TNT Tropang Giga and later to the Aces but did not get the playing time to showcase his outside shooting accuracy.

Digregorio is expected to regain the playing time he needed with Blackwater, which was in need of additional veteran presence that will stabilize their youth-laden team on the court.

Aside from Filipino-American Digregorio, the Bossing is set to acquire another former player in Ilonggo Paul Zamar, who is set to sign with the team today after being released by the San Miguel Beermen./PN
