HOTEL Sogo has offered free room accommodations to frontline health workers fighting the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). In close coordination with different local mayors and hospitals, Hotel Sogo has undertaken this bold move under its Corporate Social Responsilibity (CSR) program – Sogo Cares.
As of this writing, about 830 rooms have been allocated in coordination with mayors Isko Moreno of Manila, Joy Belmonte of Quezon City, Oscar Malapitan of Caloocan and Lani Mercado of Bacoor, Cavite. The doctor, nurses and other healthcare workers from various hospitals such as Philippines General Hospital, Ospital ng Maynila and Caloocan City Medical Center wound not need to go home and have a nearby location to stay and rest.
“This is to show support and gratitude to the frontliners who have been risking their lives and working tirelessly to help our countrymen in this time of need. We hope that in our small way, we can contribute our resources to help and support our brave health workers in fighting to defeat this dreaded disease,” said Gus Corpus, chief executive officer of Hotel Sogo.
“To all healthcare workers, our real heroes, your noble deeds are appreciated. Hotel Sogo is thankful for your unwavering service to our country, thus we have opened our doors for you to have a safe, so clean, so good accommodation,” he added.
Hotel Sogo remains vigilant in observing safe practices to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Hotel Sogo will continue to uphold its mission to make a safe place, truly a “so clean so good.”/PN
