ILOILO City – A house help in Banker’s Village in Barangay Tabuc Suba, Jaro district was accused of stealing from her boss, a police report stated.
Mariafe Javier has left their house on No. 10 Yen Street in the subdivision, employer Mary Beth Grecia told the Jaro police.
According to Grecia, her orange wallet containing several valuables had gone missing.
She checked their closed-circuit television camera and saw from the footage Javier taking the wallet from inside her shoulder bag placed in their living room.
Among the wallet’s contents were a Tommy Hilfiger watch worth P8,000, P3,000 cash and 50 US dollar bills, Grecia said.
The alleged thievery happened at around 3 a.m. on Dec. 1, Grecia further told the police, citing the security camera footage.
Grecia learned that Javier, a 36-year-old native of Barangay Gabi, Carles, Iloilo, was no longer in their house at around 7 a.m. the following day, stated the police report.
According to the employer, she learned from another house help that last week Javier twice went to a pawnshop and returned with groceries.
Police referred the complaint to the barangay lupon./PN
