ILOILO City – A former village chief in Sara, Iloilo was arrested after police officers found bullets in his house.
Edwin Silva of Barangay Zerrudo was nabbed around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, a police report showed.
Officers from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) raided Silva’s house on the strength of a search warrant that day.
Judge Maria Yolanda Panaguiton-Gavino of the Regional Trial Court Branch 34 issued the warrant over reports that Silva owns a .45-caliber pistol, two. 38-caliber revolvers and a 12-gauge shot gun.
The CIDG, however, did not find these guns, only several bullets.
Silva was often complained for indiscriminate firing, police said.
He was now in the custody of the CIDG./PN
