How Alden feels about Maine’s upcoming film for ABS-CBN

MANY were happily surprised when it was announced that Alden Richards is doing a Star Cinema movie with Kathryn Bernardo.

A lot of movie fans had the same reaction when it was revealed that Maine Mendoza, the other half of the popular “AlDub” love team with Richards, is also set to do a project with another ABS-CBN film outfit, Black Sheep, this time opposite Carlo Aquino.

Richards told entertainment reporters on Wednesday that he is thrilled that these projects defy the so-called network war.

He is particularly elated for Mendoza for “really exploring acting with a different partner now and doing movie projects alone.”

Kasi when we were working together, nakukuwento niya sa akin na she’s really having a hard time when it comes to acting,” he said.

“Full support naman kami, sinusuportahan namin ang isa’t isa kapag gumagawa kami ng projects together. Pero now, ito ‘yung time ni Maine to break out of that fear and conquer kung ano man ang mga nagho-hold back sa kanya,” he added.

Richards said he and Mendoza are fortunate to have been given opportunities to work with ABS-CBN.

Mendoza and Aquino will star in an upcoming movie titled “Isa Pa With Feelings” to be directed by Prime Cruz.

Black Sheep has yet to give out more details about their movie.

On the other hand, Richards and Bernardo are the lead stars of the upcoming Star Cinema film “Hello, Love, Goodbye.” The film is slated for a July 31 release. (ABS-CBN News)
