HUA SIONG College of Iloilo started its title defense in the 2018 Iloilo PRISAA secondary boys basketball with a 118-63 win over Iloilo Sacred Heart School at the Western Institute of Technology gym.

Georgia International Academy, Inc. relied on Janry Sabando’s game-winner to escape with a 79-78 victory over Colegio de San Jose. Sabando finished with 12 markers to back up Kevin Gedalanga, who led the way with 46 points.
Trailing by 1 with 4.7 seconds remaining in the match, Sabando was at the right spot at the right time when he followed up a missed attempt from his teammate at the buzzer for them to escape with the slim win.
Santa Isabel College of Iloilo kicked off its campaign with a lopsided 101-25 victory over Holy Rosary Academy. Keith Kade Bernaso fired 24 points while Kristian Veron Gicole added 14 for Santa Isabel.
Sun Yat Sen High School also registered a one-sided victory when it waylaid Iloilo Scholastics Academy 101-41. Arvin Paul Tabares had 17 points and Kein Laurence Apitong chipped in 14 markers for the winning team.
Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus tallied its second consecutive win with a 72-42 decision over San Jose Catholic School. Kim Lawrence Cuba and KG Joshua Gargalicana had 18 and 12 points, respectively./PN
