Hua Siong, St. Robert’s cagers manhandle foes in NBTC-Iloilo

HUA Siong College of IIoilo Red Phoenix and St. Robert’s International Academy Panda Rockets scored lopsided wins in the National Basketball Training Center Iloilo leg on Wednesday at the Western Institute of Technology gym.

The Red Phoenix made a quick work of the PAREF-Westbridge for a 103-83 victory. Dave Bagatnan led the way with 31 points, while Negrense Reynold Tupas chipped in 11 markers.

With the victory, the Red Phoenix has solidified its quarterfinals seat after finishing the Group A on top with 3-0 win-loss slate. PAREF-Westbridge ended its campaign with 0-3 slate.

The Panda Rockets, on the other hand, cruised to a 90-37 domination over St. Paul University of Iloilo. Gwyn Miles Pendon finished with 12 points, while Renz Anthon Dinzon added 11 markers.

The Panda Rockets are currently at second place in Group B with 2-1 win-loss slate, while the St. Paul University of Iloilo finished its tournament campaign without a win in three games.

Sun Yat Sen High School moved closer to a quarterfinals seat after a 78-76 escape over the Central Philippine University. Jan Christian Teves had 22 points, while Arvin Paul Tavares added 18 markers for the winning team.

Santa Isabel College of Iloilo finished its Group D campaign on a bright note after an 86-79 win over the Filipino American School Town. Keith Kaede Bernasol have 23 points for the Santa Isabel./PN
