BACOLOD City – A 35-year-old man reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree in Phase 4, Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
According to the police, the man may have hanged himself on April 4 due to depression.
His wife, an overseas worker, had not sent him money and instead gave it to his mother-in-law, police said.
According to Police Lieutenant Roby Aurita, deputy chief of the San Carlos City police station, the money was used by his children for their daily needs and their education.
Police added that the victim had intended to burn their house./PN
