SHE maintained that she was not asking him for money but that she only wanted for him to visit his ailing grandmother.
To drive home that point that they were not asking him for any financial help, Raquel Pempengco, Jake Zyrus’ mother, said that she would hand over to the singer all of the money she would win if she hit the over P700-million lotto jackpot prize.
“Kung sakaling manalo ako ay ibibigay ko kay CHARICE (Jake Zyrus’ former name) para hindi na niya gawin pa ang pambababoy sa pagkatao ko at ‘di nya na ako gawing masama sa madlang people,” she wrote on Facebook, according to Pep.
Her short rant also included a warning for Zyrus, threatening that he’ll come to regret publishing a book that contained alleged details about the abuses he suffered when he was a child.
Pempengco was apparently reacting after excerpts of Zyrus’ book, “I Am Jake,” were published online.
His tell-all included memories about how his mother, branded as an “evil queen,” would “often” hit him on his head with high heels.
He also talked about how her mother would create accounts online just to criticize his decision to come out as a lesbian.
Pempengco earlier called Zyrus a “sira-ulo” for the things he wrote in his book.
The latest issue to strain their relationship began when Zyrus reacted negatively to Pempengco’s call to visit his ailing lola.
Zyrus questioned why his family would always come to him when they needed help, even if they made him feel like the “devil.”
Pempengco responded by saying that they managed to pay for the medical bills already, and claimed that the only thing she really wanted was for him to visit his grandmother. (ABS-CBN News)
