ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) is monitoring Barangay Desamparados, Jaro district following reports of drug dealers and drug dens operating in the area.
Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica, ICPO director, said in an interview with DYRI RMN Iloilo that some drug personalities from Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district transferred to neighboring Barangay Desamparados.
Successive antidrug operations in Barangay Bakhaw has made it close to becoming a peaceful barangay,” said Coronica.
On April 30, the police dismantled a drug den in Barangay Desamparados. It was operated by high-value drug suspect Roberto Latoza, police said.
Latoza was arrested along with 10 other individuals who were caught while in a pot session.
The ICPO chief warned the illegal drug pushers and users as he is determined to declare Barangay Desamparados drug-free.
