ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has requested an augmentation force of over 1,000 police personnel from the Police Regional Office 6 to bolster security measures for the upcoming Dinagyang Festival 2024.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Rene Obregon Jr., chief of ICPO Operations Management Unit, said the additional personnel will assist in various roles during the festival, including monitoring border control, overseeing judging areas for the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan and Ati Tribes Competition, managing crowd control, and ensuring the smooth running of the food festival, and other festival activities.
In addition to the request for additional cops, the ICPO is also coordinating with force multipliers.
This is to further strengthen security preparations to achieve the target of zero major incidents during the celebration of the Dinagyang Festival, Obregon added./PN
