ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) conducted a simulation exercise (SIMEX) of a shooting incident at the Iloilo Fish Port Complex in Barangay Tanza Baybay yesterday.
“Ini pagpanghanda sa posible matabo sa aton syudad pero hoping and praying man nga wala lang,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Rene Obregon Jr. of the ICPO.
The SIMEX tested the alertness and level of preparation of policemen.
Participants included personnel of Police Station 1 led by Police Lieutenant Mavin Laraño, Iloilo City Mobile Force Company, Special Weapons and Tactics led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Jomuad Jr., Maritime Police led by Police Major AJ Gilza, Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Iloilo City Emergency Responders.
Obregon said shortcomings of responding policemen shown during the SIMEX would be addressed./PN
