ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) is coordinating with the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU-6) to identify who is/are behind the false information about an alleged abduction in this city.
ICPO director Police Colonel Leo Batiles insisted there are no abduction cases in the city contrary to the information being spread on social media.
According to Batiles, they will file a case against anyone who spreads fake information regarding abduction and kidnapping.
Information is circulating on social media about two female students abducted in front of West Visayas State University in La Paz district.
Batiles stressed this is not true.
The city top cop warned the public anew that spreading fake information on all social media platforms is a form of crime./PN
