MANILA – Dave Ildefonso had his best game as a member of Suwon KT Sonic Boom as they scored an 88-84 victory over Daegu Korea Gas Corporation Pegasus in the 2022-2023 Korean Basketball League on Tuesday night at the Suwon KT Arena.
Ildefonso, who was part of the Ateneo Blue Eagles team that ruled the UAAP Season 85 men’s basketball, tallied 10 points, including two three-pointers, to go with two rebounds and two assists for the Sonic Boom.
Jarod Jones top-scored with 23 points to go with nine rebounds, Jung Sung Woo added 22 markers, including three outside hits, while Ha Yoongi and Hongseok Yang had 16 and 10 as the Sonic Boom improved to 16-20.
Bacolodnon Samjosef Belangel, on the other hand, finished with eight points, misfiring his two three-point attempts, to go with two rebounds and an assist as the Pegasus slumped to 13-23 win-loss record.
Daesung Lee tallied 22 points, with two outside connections, Murphy Holloway added double-double 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Jeong Hyo-geun and Seungmin Shin ended with 13 and 12, respectively, for Pegasus.
Anyang KGC Ginseng Corporation, meanwhile, bucked the continued absence of Rhenz Abando as they scored an 83-81 victory over Jeonju KGG Egis at the Jeonju Indoor Gymnasium.
Abando, a former University of Santo Tomas and Colegio de San Juan de Letran star, has been out of the Anyang’s roster since winning the KBL Slam Dunk competition to still undisclosed reason.
Omari Spellman led the way with double-double 34 points and 11 rebounds, Seonggon Moon added 12 markers, while Byun Junhyung and Byungjun Bae had 11 and 10, respectively, as Anyang stayed at no.1 spot with 25-11.
Filipino-Canadian Calvin Epistola, meanwhile, managed just one point after splitting his two free throw attempts to go with one rebounds in three minutes of action as Egis dropped to 16-20.
Former NBA player Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led the way for Jeonju with a double-double of 37 points and 11 rebounds, while Jeong Chang-young and Heo Ung had 12 and 11 markers, respectively./PN
