ILOILO City – A total of 193 refilled butane canisters were confiscated in Barangay Guintas, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo. Three persons were arrested.
Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Region 6 and the Barotac Nuevo police force nabbed Karl Violata, 30; Henry Porras, 41; and Roberto Campos, 56 – all residents of the village.
The suspects were caught transporting butane canisters believed to be refilled with liquefied petroleum gas, which is a violation of Presidential Decree No. 1865 that prohibits the sale or distribution of petroleum products for profit and without a license from the government.
The suspects were detained in the lockup cell of the Barotac Nuevo municipal police station./PN
