BACOLOD City – Three persons face charges for violation of Presidential Decree 449 (Cockfighting Law of 1974) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Police chanced upon Sherman Gambito and Arnel Mahinay – both residents of Calatrava, Negros Occidental – and Rodulfo Ramas of Sagay City, Negros Occidental engaging in alleged illegal cockfighting around 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 2 in Barangay Minautok, Calatrava.
The police recovered two game fowls and other paraphernalia while a .45 pistol with ammunition and a sling bag were recovered from Gambito.
The suspects were detained at the Calatrava police station./PN
