BACOLOD City – Nine individuals were arrested in Barangay Hawaian, Silay City, Negros Occidental for illegal gambling, police said.
They were Warlito Brinquez, 51; Romeo Jalique, 62; Wilfred Guarde, 40; Glenn Maglantay, 25; Joshua Anenacion, 19; Bebon Dacula, 50; Pancho Aligato, 56; Carmilo Orian, 43; and Fernando Cueva, 41, a police report showed. They were all residents of Silay City.
Police officers chanced upon them engaging in an illegal cockfight on Sunday.
Recovered from them were three dead game fowls and P1,000 gambling money.
They were detained in the custodial facility of the Silay City police station./PN
