Illegal drugs, guns seized in Capiz raid

CAPIZ – A 41-year-old man was arrested in Sitio Kapul-an, Barangay Manayupit, Maayon town for possession of illegal drugs and firearms.

Alias “Tilog”, a resident of the said place, yielded 12 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, caliber .38 revolver and 12-gauge homemade handgun loaded with one round of ammunition each, and additional round of 12-gauge handgun ammunition.

Operatives of the Maayon Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency carried out the raid through the strength of search warrants for violation Republic Act (RA) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), around 6:25 a.m. on April 24.

The suspect was detained at the Maayon MPS.

“The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) is unwavering in its commitment to protecting the safety and security of our community.
