ILOILO City – Despite the millions of pesos worth of shabu seized and hundreds of drug personalities arrested, illegal drugs are still rampant, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 (PDEA-6).
The price of shabu is also still the same at P6,800 per gram, said PDEA-6 spokesperson Bomrad Abonado.
“Wala man sang pagtaas sa per gram, especially diri sa Iloilo nga nagabalor P6,800 and P8,000 in other areas. So meaning wala sang scarcity sang supply kay madamo man abi sources nila. Pero maayo kay madamo ang nagahatag information sa aton kag sa pulis that’s why daku aton dakop,” Abonado said.
The PRO-6 seized P4.7 million worth of shabu and arrested 68 drug suspects across the region in weeklong operations.
Abonado said they are targeting high-value drug suspects as much as possible.
PDEA-6, along with other concerned agencies like the Philippine National Police and Philippine Coast Guard, is also intensifying their monitoring and inspection in all local ports especially in areas considered as transshipments of illegal drugs./PN
