BACOLOD City – Eight persons were arrested while two remained at large following an anti-gambling operation in Barangay Zone 1, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Police recovered P410 bet money, mahjong tiles and playing cards around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 22.
The suspects were Roy Sabanal, Edmundo Sotto, Reby Ponce, Rumolo Barcenilla, Simmy Bayona, Virgil Osto, Maribel Apuhin, and Myrna Villaceran.
Menchi Regalado and a certain “Dangdang” De Guzman, meanwhile, were able to elude arrest.
The suspects would be facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 that outlaws illegal gambling.
The eight were held at the city police station./PN
