BORACAY – An Indian national employed as a chef in this world-famous island has been arrested for overstaying and being undocumented, the Bureau of Immigration said.
Vincent Mondal, 42, was arrested in a restaurant at the tourist island on Sept. 4. He did not undergo inspection by immigration authorities, according to BI Intelligence Officer Jude Hinolan.
The bureau said Mondal was placed in the immigration blacklist six years ago for overstaying his visa and for failing to pay penalties.
He had been brought to the BI detention center where he is awaiting deportation proceedings. (With ABS-CBN News/PN)
