DAO, Capiz – Two persons were “caught in the act” quarrying in Barangay Manhoy here around 10:30 a.m. on April 20.
Combined forces of the Capiz Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (CaPENRO) and Task Force Kabalaka 6K arrested a backhoe operator and a hauling truck driver.
The two men failed to present pertinent documents such as a permit to quarry.
Quarrying without permits is a violation of Section 2O.01(a) and (o), Article O of the Revised Revenue Code of Capiz.
On the same day in Barangay Acbo, Sigma town at around 1:11 p.m., a backhoe operator was apprehended for a similar violation.
The three men face fines and penalties.
The Inter-Agency Task Force Kabalaka 6K, which stands for Kasubaan, Kabukiran, Kakahoyan, Kadagatan, Katinlo, and Katunggan, is mandated to enforce environmental protection within the jurisdiction of Capiz./PN
