BACOLOD City – Two suspects in shooting a man to death in Purok Masinadyahon, Barnagy Galicia, Ilog, Negros Occidental remain at large, a police report showed.
The 47-year-old resident William Arellano was walking from his house to the village proper around 6 a.m. on Friday when the suspects waylaid him, the report further stated.
The suspects, who were wearing masks, shot Arellano – a member of the Barangay Peace Action Team – on the chest and the head using a 12-gauge shotgun.
Arellano was rushed to the Lorenzo Zayco Memorial District Hospital in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental where attending phyisician Dr. Kristoffer Jan Uytiepo pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
The suspects, on the other hand, fled.
Police were still determining the motive in the shooting./PN
