ILOILO – The provincial government’s Gender and Development (GAD) Council is spearheading the celebration of National Women’s Month.
A series of events aimed at honoring women and advocating for equality, diversity, and inclusivity have been planned throughout March.
The celebration kicks off with a Women’s Symposium on Climate Change Resiliency, scheduled for March 5 at Casa Real de Iloilo.
The symposium is part of a broader agenda that includes a variety of activities celebrating women’s contributions and achievements.
From March 4 to 8, the Tienda Ilonggas Exhibit at the Capitol lobby will display products from women microentrepreneurs across the province. This exhibit aims to promote and support women’s entrepreneurship.
A significant highlight is the commemoration of International Women’s Day on March 8, marked by a women-led, province-wide cleanup drive.
Following this, from March 11 to 25, Capitol offices will adorn purple decorations as a symbol of women’s empowerment.
