BACOLOD City – A cop assigned at the Police Station 5 in Iloilo City allegedly shot to death his live-in partner before turning the gun on himself around 7:42 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, in Purok Camia, Barangay Poblacion, Valladolid, Negros Occidental.
Valladolid police identified the live-in partners as aliases “Lony”, 40, a resident of the town’s Barangay Doldol, and “Ruby”, 33, of Barangay Sagua Banua.
Ruby sustained multiple gunshot wounds while the cop had gunshot wounds on his lower chin and right temple.
They were brought to Valladolid District Hospital but were declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Initial investigation revealed that the 10-year-old son of Ruby, who was also inside the house, told the police that a heated argument ensued between his mother and Lony, which later resulted to shooting.
Police said Lony allegedly used his issued service firearm, a Glock 17, to shoot his live-in partner multiple times.
Recovered from the crime scene were a caliber .9mm pistol with an inserted magazine and nine live rounds of ammunition, three fired cartridge cases from .9mm, three slugs, a cellular phone, and a motorcycle key believed to belong to the suspect./PN
