ILOILO City – Four separate anti-illegal drug operations carried out by the city police in a day led to the seizure of over P2.2 million of suspected shabu.
Five high-value drug suspects were arrested on Feb. 21.
In Barangay Tabuc Suba, Jaro, 33-year-old “James” was successfully detained by the Iloilo City Police Station 3.
The native of Janiuay, Iloilo was found with about 115 grams of suspected shabu valued at around P782,000.
Law enforcement personnel from Iloilo City Police Station 2 apprehended a 27-year-old “Leo” in Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz.
He was found to have approximately 62 grams of suspected shabu worth P421,600.
On the other hand, Iloilo City Police Station 5 collared 53-year-old “Jeffrey” in Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao.
The resident of Barangay Taytay Zone II, Jaro yielded approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu valued at P408,000.
And a couple from Barangay Rizal Pala-Pala 1, City Proper was detained at the Iloilo City Police Station 1 for possession of 19 sachets of suspected shabu.
The alleged illegal substances found from suspects “Erme” and “Christo” weighed about 92 grams in total and had an estimated value of P625,600.
All arrested individuals will face charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
