Mayor Jerry P. Treñas led the turnover of 80 Taurus T4 assault rifles, 250 Motorola batteries for serviceable radios and three patrol vehicles to ICPO director Colonel Kim P. Legada at the City Hall yesterday morning, January 8.

The city government said this logistical support will help boost police mobility in maintaining peace and order, ensuring public safety and security, and enabling faster response to emergencies, especially during the upcoming Dinagyang Festival.

For his part, Legada expressed gratitude for the continued partnership between the city government and the police force.

“This unwavering support reflects the city’s commitment to creating a safe environment for all Ilonggos. These resources will significantly enhance our ability to serve and protect the public,” he said.

The turnover coincided with the ICPO’s New Year’s Call and Command Conference, attended by the ICPO Command Group, staff, unit commanders, and station commanders. The event highlighted the shared vision of the city government and the police force to work collaboratively for a secure and harmonious community.

As Iloilo City enters 2025, ICPO vows to uphold its mandate of providing top-tier public service.

“With this partnership and renewed dedication, we will continue striving for progress, unity and safety for all Ilonggos,” added Legada./PN
