ILOILO City – The city government installed offsite payment centers for business and property taxes in malls to make transactions more accessible to the public.
These payment centers at the Atrium, Festive Walk and Mary Mart Center are part of the city government’s vision to level-up public service.
Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said the city government is constantly looking for ways to bring its services closer to the people.
The payment centers are expected to be fully operational this October.
“That will also be the time when our e-payment system will be fully functional. You can just pay your quarterly tax online,” said Executive Assistant Francis Cruz.
The city government also requested the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) to be part of the offsite payment center at Festive Walk to accommodate Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA)-accredited business process outsourcing companies’ related concerns.
“In this way, they will no longer have to go to Cebu to renew business permits because PEZA is already here,” Cruz added./PN
