ILOILO City – The officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Iloilo City Police Station 10 (ICPS-10) was relieved from post less than a month following the new station’s inauguration.

Outgoing ICPS-10 OIC Captain Nonito Venteroso Jr. was temporarily replaced by Lieutenant Colonel Rene Obregon, the chief of the city’s Mobile Patrol Unit.

In a Panay News interview on Monday, July 22, with Colonel Joeresty Coronica, outgoing director of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), he declined to provide further details on the reasons behind Venteroso’s relief from duty, adding that the action taken was for the welfare of everyone, particularly within the ICPO.

He only described his decision using the Latin phrase “res ipsa loquitor,” which means “the thing speaks for itself.”

ICPS-10, located in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao district, is one of the four newly established police stations in the city which were inaugurated on July 2./PN
