RUNRIO Trilogy, the premier running series in the Philippines, will hold the first leg of its three-leg Visayas edition on Sept. 17 in Iloilo City.
Registration for Ilonggo runners who wish to join the Visayas Leg 1 started yesterday at SM City Iloilo, said RUNRIO Events, Inc. founder/president and running coach Rio Dela Cruz.
âI would like to invite Ilonggos who like running to join the RUNRIO Trilogy 2017,â Dela Cruz said. âThis unique running series will definitely provide runners a chance to train and prepare properly, and a chance to show how far they can go.â
Registration fees are P900 for 5K, P1,200 for P10K and P1,600 for 21K. Participants will get a complimentary race shirt, a race bib, a finisher shirt, a finisher medal, a draw string bag, and a hydro-grip bottle.
In 21K, participants must be 18 years old and above; for 10K, 13 years old and above; and for 5K, 5 years old and above. Participants below 18 must have parental/guardian consent to join.
Assembly and gun start time for 21K is 3 a.m. and 4 a.m.; for 10K, 3:50 a.m. and 4:50 a.m.; and for 5K, 4 a.m. and 5 a.m.
Designated cutoff times will be four hours after the official start of the race for 21K, two hours for 10K and one hour for 5K.
All 21K and 10K finishers within the cutoff time will get a finisherâs medal. Trophies, medals and cash prizes will be handed only to the top finishers.
âThe RUNRIO Trilogy series highlights progression running leading to a full marathon with the aim of encouraging runners to perform better at each leg,â Dela Cruz said, adding that the race proceeds will go to the YesPinoy Foundation./PN
