ILOILO City – Mayor Jose Espinosa leads officials of the local government who will join the private sector in the “Iloilo City Trade Mission and Investment Forum” in the United States. They will fly from Manila to New York City today.
Iloilo City’s First Lady, Gina Sarabia Espinosa, as head of the private sector, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of the fashion/jewelry roadshows to be presented before American and Filipino audience in several venues in New York City, Washington DC and Fairfax, Virginia in collaboration with the Philippine Council of Management, Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Washington DC and the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Virginia from June 1 to June 9.
The group will also be joining the Dinagyang Festival and Manggahan Festival performers at the Philippine Independence Day parade on Madison Avenue, New York City on June 3.
The first item on the agenda is the launching of “Ilonggo Fashion and Jewelry Exhibit” at the Philippine Center Gallery on Fifth Street, New York City. The same event will also be shown in Fairfax, Virginia and Washington DC. Mayor Espinosa will deliver a message in each venue.
Iloilo City Officer Junel Divinagracia, who is also a prime mover of the trade mission/investment forum, said that every journey they would make in the US East Coast is aimed at luring both American and US-based Filipinos to buy Philippine-made products and invest in Iloilo City. It is also aimed at encouraging retirees and homecoming Filipinos to buy residential estate in Iloilo City./PN
