ILOILO City – The Office of the City Veterinarian (OCV) has activated hotlines to cater to concerns on pets and strays in the metropolis.
Residents are advised to contact telephone number 337-9866 or mobile numbers 09198093338 and 09165718623 for queries Mondays thru Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
For impounding requests, only emergency cases that are public health risks will be given priority and will be acted upon.
Rescued strays will be accommodated in the newly-opened City Dog Pound and Animal Shelter at the Calahunan Sanitary Landfill in Mandurriao district.
Surrender of “unwanted” pets by the pet owners and the likes will not be accommodated.
As per policy, all captured and impounded stray animals are available for adoption to anyone who has the capacity to own pet and is a responsible pet owner.
Rabies vaccination is open for walk-in clients all year round at City Motorpool across the University of the Philippines Visayas – Iloilo City Campus.
Barangay Pet Mass Vaccination schedules or visits will be announced in advance.
Moreover, communication or letter will be sent to respective barangays one week prior to the schedule.
