ILOILO City – Between January and Sept. 28 this year, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) arrested 444 persons for illegal gambling.
These persons were caught in 50 operations for violation of Presidential Decree 449 (Cockfighting Law).
Here’s the breakdown of arrests:
* “bookies” – 22
* tong-its – 15
* other card games – 11
* pool and billiards – 11
* mahjong – seven
* cara y cruz – two
The total recovered money reached P275,017.
