Iloilo COVID beds 81% occupied

ILOILO – The occupancy rate of beds for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients in capitol-run hospitals here reached 81.05 percent on Sept. 13.

Based on the data from the Hospital Management Office (HMO) which manages 12 district hospitals and the Iloilo Provincial Hospital, 402 of the 496 dedicated beds for COVID-19 were occupied.

HMO data also showed these five hospitals already hit maximum occupancy, some even exceeding it:

* Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital in Barangay Pungtod, Cabatuan – 38 COVID beds; 45 beds utilized (118.42 percent occupancy rate)

* Federico Roman Tirador Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Barangay Jibolo, Janiuay – 25 COVID beds; 29 utilized (116 percent occupancy rate)

* Dr. Ricardo S. Provido Memorial District Hospital in Barangay Dalid, Calinog – 25 COVID beds; 26 beds utilized (104 percent)

* Rep. Pedro G. Trono Memorial District Hospital on Garriel Street, Guimbal – 62 of 62 COVID beds utilized

* Barotac Viejo District Hospital in Barangay San Lucas, Barotac Viejo – 13 of 13 COVID beds utilized

Meanwhile, the province has 749 non-COVID dedicated beds, 57.68 percent of which were occupied.

Overall, there are 813 authorized beds in the capitol-run hospitals but the actual beds being utilized were 1,245./PN
