ILOILO Doctors’ College-AsiaLink entered the finals of the JB Sports San Jose Ballers Club Basketball League after a 70-65 win over J. Cordon Construction in the semifinals held recently at the La Paz Gym in La Paz, Iloilo City.
Jade Bryan Jardio led the way with 17 points, while Nickolai Magtolis contributed nine markers for the Iloilo Doctors’ College-AsiaLink. Michael Balbarada had 16 markers for J. Cordon.
Cordon was the aggressor early on and was ahead in the first three quarters before the Iloilo Doctors’ College-AsiaLink slowly clawed its way back and cut into their opponent’s deficit.
Iloilo Doctors’ College-AsiaLink managed to complete its comeback after Magtolis drained two crucial three pointers to take the fight away from the J. Cordon Construction.
Iloilo Doctors’ College-AsiaLink were the underdogs heading into the semis as they sport a 2-2 elimination round record, while J. Cordon was tied with Conlu Customs on top with 3-1 slate.
Iloilo Doctors’ College-AsiaLink will be awaiting for the winner of the other semifinals games between Conlu Customs and Malditos, which will be played on Sunday, as their finals opponent./PN
