ILOPRISAA team dug deep into its bag of tricks to eke out a hard earned win against the NOPSSCEA in the tertiary women’s event of the Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) Meet in Bacolod City.
Mary Grace Bubongan and Lindsley Bonilla carried the fight for the Ilonggas in the doubles event as they thwarted NOPSSCEA’s climb from two sets down to clinch the gold medal.
Frances Necole Caoyanan has earlier won two singles matches for the Central Philippine University-backed ILOPRISAA before she teamed up with Kimberla Solocasa in the other doubles match.
The tertiary women’s championship was the delegation’s third table tennis gold medal after the ILOPRISAA earlier bagged the championships in secondary boys and girls event.
Meanwhile, NOPSSCEA’s Hannah Jandra Delotavo bagged a gold medal when she sprinted out on her opponents in the secondary girls 400 meter dash event on Sunday afternoon.
Antonette Jay Aguillon, meanwhile, settled for two silver medal finishes in the secondary girls long jump and 100-meter dash, while her sister Krisha Dedoyco Aguillon had bronze in 400-meter dash.
Bea Delotavo also wound up with silver medal in secondary girls 100-meter hurdles, while Jaden Gil Rivera and Klyde Montalbo also settled for silver in 1500-meter dash and 2k walkathon, respectively.
Bagging bronze medal also were May Therese Gula in the secondary girls 1500-meter dash and Ralph Vincent Acuna in the secondary boys 400-meter dash. ILOPRISAA’s Alden Doronilla have two golds in tertiary men’s from 1000-meter and 5000-meter run./PN
