ILOILO City – Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. and Mayor Jerry Treñas welcomed the appointments of the new secretaries of the Department of Health (DOH) and Department of National Defense (DND).
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. recently appointed Dr. Teodoro Herbosa as DOH secretary and Gilbert Teodoro as DND secretary.
Defensor described Herbosa as a friend and a partner who helped the province especially during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Amigo ta na. If you remember him, kapila na sia magbalik diri sa aton sa probinsya during the time of the pandemic. Kaupod ta na sia nga nagbulig diri sa probinsya sang naga-engkwentro kita sa COVID-19,” said Defensor.
Defensor also expressed elation for Teodoro’s appointment to the DND which the latter used to lead during the Arroyo administration. He noted that he and Teodoro were partymates in the Lakas-Kampi-CMD party in 2010.
“Congratulations to our Cabinet secretaries. Of course si Secretary Gibo Teodoro ginbuloligan naton na sang una ang iya nga kandidatura under Lakas. In 2010, kaupod naton sia sa partido sa Lakas and we are happy to have him back in the DND kasi he was doing a goob job as a Defense secretary,” the governor said.
Meanwhile, for Treñas, the appointments of Teodoro and Herbosa were good choices made by the President.
