ILOILO – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has a new director – Police Colonel Gilbert Gorero, the chief of the Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) Regional Plan and Strategy Management Division.
Gorero replaced Police Colonel Paul Kenneth Lucas who was moved effective yesterday to the PRO-6’s Finance Service.
His new assignment was contained in a special order from Camp Crame, No. NHQ-SO -URA-2020-5184.
Gorero was promoted to Police Colonel from Police Lieutenant Colonel just a few months ago.
The PRO-6 received the special order from the Philippine National Police national headquarters yesterday morning.
Gorero welcomed his new assignment.
“Changing of posts is routine for us. Police officers come and go…We need to follow orders,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, PRO-6 spokesperson.
Then the chief of PRO-6’s Regional Comptroller Division, Lucas was reassigned to the IPPO on Feb. 12 this year to replace Police Colonel Roland Vilela who, after only a few months as Iloilo police director (beginning September 2019), was given a new assignment as Philippine police attaché to the United States.
“Sir Lucas has an excellent performance leading the IPPO,” said Malong./PN
