ILOILO – The Iloilo provincial capitol has suspended its office hours from 12 noon on Friday, Sept. 29, in observance of the 31st National Family Week.

Memorandum Order No. 178, signed by Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul Banias on Monday, is in line with Proclamation No. 60, Series of 1992, declaring every last week of September every year as Family Week.

“During this time, I encourage all of you to prioritize spending time with your family in your respective homes to celebrate “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day” under Proclamation No. 326, Series of 2012,” said Banias.

Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day is also observed annually to highlight the value of Filipino families sharing meals.

However, government agencies that deliver health services and disaster preparedness and response will continue to operate.

The Iloilo city hall, meanwhile, shortened office hours on Monday for the celebration.

“Work in Iloilo City Government shall be suspended from 3 p.m. onwards on Monday to allow employees and their families to celebrate the 31st National Family Week,” Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said./PN
