Iloilo has 127 ‘unlisted’ COVID deaths

ILOILO – As of Aug. 24, 127 coronavirus-related fatalities in this province were yet to be included in the official death count by the Provincial Health Office (PHO).

They have not yet received the death certificates of these cases, according to PHO acting head, Dr. Maria Socorro Colmenares-Quiñon.

“Evidence-based kita sa paglista,” she explained.

As of Aug. 23, PHO’s official COVID death count hit 565, the highest in Western Visayas. Broken down by age groups, these were the following:

* 61 years old and above (367)

* 51 to 60 years old (110)

* 41 to 50 years old (44)

* 31 to 40 years old (24)

* 21 to 30 years old (16)

* 11 to 20 years old (two)

* one to 10 years old (two)

The PHO data also showed that 255 fatalities had no co-morbidity.

The 565 COVID-19 deaths were in the following areas: Oton (47), Pavia (38), Santa Barbara (28), Passi City (27), Barotac Nuevo (25), Tigbauan (24), Miag-ao (23), Pototan (23), Leganes (22), Dumangas (21), Banate (20), Estancia (17), Cabatuan (17), Guimbal (17), San Miguel (15), Alimodian (14), Maasin (13), San Joaquin (13), Leon (12), Janiuay (11), San Enrique (10), Dingle (nine), Lambunao (nine), Sara (eight), New Lucena (eight), Zarraga (eight), Carles (eight), Ajuy (seven), Igbaras ( seven), Badiangan (seven), Barotac Viejo (seven), Balasan (seven), Batad (six), Concepcion (six), Calinog (six), Anilao (five), Lemery (four), Mina (four), Dueñas (four), San Rafael (two), Bingawan (two), San Dionisio (one), and Tubungan (one)./PN
