Iloilo media partner with city gov’t’s ‘Ginhawa’ mental health program

ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Hall Press Corps (ICHPC) has joined the Ginhawa 2.0 Mental Health Resilience and Well-Being Program of the city government.

Through the event “Kanta kag Istorya Kaupod sa Media” at Sunburst Park over the weekend, Iloilo City Hall beat reporters, the Iloilo City Public Information Office and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council invited veteran broadcasters such as Novie Guazo, Don Dolido and Henry Lumawag of DYRI RMN Iloilo to share their wisdom, experiences and tips with campus journalists from West Visayas State University (WVSU) College of Communication and Iloilo City National High School.

Press corps members Angel Tan, Tara Yap and Joseph Marzan also talked about the life of being a journalist/reporter, the challenges and how to cope with it, among others.

The participants were also entertained by some members of the press corps who showcased their singing prowess.

Ginhawa 2.0 is the city government’s comprehensive mental health program to address growing concern on the Ilonggos’ overall well-being.

Held every weekend through various recreational and interactive activities in partnership with various sectors, the program focuses on responding, preventing, and mitigating anxiety and depression to boost the mental health of the Ilonggos./PN
