ILOILO City – In a weeklong crackdown, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) confiscated shabu valued at approximately P2 million and apprehended 25 individuals on outstanding warrants.

The operation, conducted from July 8 to 14, saw various police stations across the province seizing a total of 287 grams of shabu, IPPO records revealed.

The most significant bust occurred on July 10 in Barangay Carvasana, Calinog, where police arrested a robbery suspect. Authorities recovered 250 grams of shabu worth an estimated P1.7 million and a .45 caliber pistol with ammunition from the suspect, who is also believed to be a former member of a dismantled robbery group.

Additionally, the IPPO’s enforcement efforts led to the capture of a bet collector involved in the illegal numbers game, “bookies”, found with bet money totaling P2,500.

Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, officer-in-charge director of IPPO, lauded the dedication and hard work of his personnel and highlighted the essential role of community cooperation in their success.

“The success of all our efforts relies not only on our dedication and professionalism but also on the continued support and cooperation of every personnel,” said Razalan. “We will continue working hard to maintain peace and order in the province.”/PN
