ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) arrested 22 individuals and confiscated drugs valued at approximately P2.8 million over a span of two days.
The operation, conducted across Western Visayas from September 20 to 22, resulted in the seizure of 417 grams of shabu.
According to PRO-6, the haul involved several high-profile arrests, including four individuals classified as high-value targets and 18 street-level suspects.
The Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RDEU-6) recorded the largest seizure, valued at over P1.2 million.
The Iloilo City Police Office followed closely, with drugs worth around P1.094 million captured.
Additional contributions came from the Capiz Police Provincial Office (P231,000), Bacolod City Police Office (P194,000), Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (P70,000), and Iloilo Police Provincial Office (P27,000), with seizures totaling over P522,000.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, praised the collaborative efforts of the police, community members, and other law enforcement agencies in achieving these results.
“These statistics represent our strong partnership. Without stakeholder support, these accomplishments would not be possible,” said Wanky.
He assured the public that regional police would continue their robust efforts to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs and apprehend those involved.
The arrested suspects are currently detained and face charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
